About KC4L

Why

Everyone, every community, and every organization deserve access to real-life leadership programs. There is a void on true leadership education for organizations, enhancement of practical skills for individuals, and opportunities to engage communities to take action on issues. We have the experience and expertise to fill that gap. We have the vision to be the hub for leadership development in Kentucky.

Kentucky Center for Leadership Training

HOW IT STARTED

In March of 2020 COVID-19 hit, affecting our lives in many ways, personally and professionally. The “leadership development, management consulting, and training” field was heavily impacted. Right there, in the middle of the lockdown and remote working, professionals from Leadership Strategies Group (LSG) and Center for Leadership Excellence (CLE) saw this challenge as an excellent opportunity to plan, prepare, and adapt to the new norms and the new ways of living and doing business.

When Covid-19 hit Leadership Strategies Group was ready to celebrate its 26th Anniversary. Since 1994 Leadership Strategies Group (LSG), a human performance improvement firm located in Bowling Green, KY, had helped organizations locally and across the United States to reach higher levels of success. LSG professionals were providing creative and customized support to their clients, including Fortune 100 and 500 companies, public agencies, global corporations, small and large businesses, municipalities, universities, non-profits, and associations.

The Center for Leadership Excellence (CLE) was a Western Kentucky University program sponsored by the Gordon Ford College of Business. The program served as a resource that advanced the understanding and applications of leadership in society. The CLE history includes significant work with boards of nonprofit organizations assisting them in the development of fundraising programs, strategic planning, public relations, board organization, financial responsibility and other topics. CLE’s flagship program, based on the Adaptive Leadership concept, is now offered as “Action for Leadership” (A4L).

Kentucky Center for Leadership is leading the development of programs focused on civic ledership as well as on organizational leadership development.
